This song represents the frustration and angst felt by people all around the world who have had their freedom taken away from them by the restrictions imposed by the government in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time of posting this track, Melbournians have been in sporadic lockdowns for 231 days. During this time we have only been allowed to leave the house to go to the grocery store, exercise or seek medical attention. It has been 18 months since the last psytrance festival in Victoria. 18 months since we have been allowed to feel the freedom of expression and connection of an outdoor dancefloor. All of this time of isolation has driven many of us to fall into the darkness, overwhelmed by our demons that are no longer kept at bay by the light of our beautiful community. All is not in vain however because there is much to be learnt from the dark, after all, your shadow is always there. Learning to understand the darkness allows you to control the demons and appreciate the light all the more when you get to experience it.
So we release the forbidden sounds, which have been locked away, kept secret in the fear that they may scare people, but now we have learnt that the only way to heal is to bring the darkness to light.
